To contemplate sending a child to college is quite different than actually taking them to college and leaving them…. I didn’t think it would affect me like it has…my oldest and my youngest went to college today….and I’m feeling somewhat bereft …. I know many women have gone this way before and survived and so will I but… now, I know what it feels like to have raised a child and then start them on their adult journey…. I know she’ll do well. It’s just I’m having to remember the old adage, “Children are not ours to keep; they’re only on loan for a little while and when the time comes we have to learn to let go.” It’s the letting go that’s causing me consternation…
I’m sure she’ll do fine…
